Antivirus, explained plainly

You do not need to spend a fortune to stay safe. Here is what we recommend to customers every week, in plain language and with no upsell.

Already dealing with pop-ups or a machine that feels hijacked? See our virus & malware removal service, or browse the Knowledge Hub for everyday habits that keep trouble out in the first place.

Built-in protection is a real starting point

Windows Security (Microsoft Defender) is included, updates automatically, and blocks the majority of everyday threats. If someone tells you it is worthless, they are usually selling something.

Add a second opinion scanner

A free on-demand scanner such as Malwarebytes is useful for a manual check when something feels off. You do not need two always-on antivirus programs fighting each other.

Skip the scare-ware

Pop-ups claiming your PC has 431 viruses, browser toolbars promising speed boosts, and phone calls from 'Microsoft support' are scams. Close the window and call us instead.

Updates beat software

Most infections we clean came in through an out-of-date browser, an expired subscription, or a click on a fake download button. Keeping Windows and your browser current does more than any paid suite.
